Ingredients
1 whole Camembert cheese (about 250g)
2 cloves garlic (sliced)
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (chopped, or thyme)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh baguette or crackers (for serving)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Remove the Camembert from its packaging and place it back in its wooden box (if it came in one) or on a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
Step 2: Using a sharp knife, score the top rind of the cheese in a crisscross pattern to allow flavors to penetrate.
Step 3: Insert the sliced garlic and fresh rosemary (or thyme) into the cuts on the cheese.
Step 4: Drizzle the olive oil over the top and season with salt and pepper.
Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Step 6: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Step 7: Serve warm with slices of baguette or crackers for dipping.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with additional toppings like a drizzle of honey, fig jam, or chopped walnuts for extra flavor and texture. This dish is best enjoyed immediately after baking.
