Ingredients
1 ripe banana (medium size, with brown spots)
1/2 cup heavy cream (cold)
1/4 cup milk (cold, any kind, optional for lighter foam)
1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
Instructions
Step 1: Peel the ripe banana and place it in a small bowl. Use a fork or potato masher to thoroughly mash the banana until it is completely smooth, with no large chunks. For an extra smooth cold foam, you can blend it briefly.
Step 2: In a separate, chilled bowl, combine the cold heavy cream, cold milk (if using), and your chosen sweetener (maple syrup or honey).
Step 3: Using an electric hand mixer, an immersion blender with a whisk attachment, or a milk frother, whip the cream mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form. The mixture should be thick and frothy, but still pourable. Be careful not to over-whip into stiff peaks.
Step 4: Gently fold the mashed banana into the whipped cream mixture. Mix just until combined, ensuring the banana is evenly distributed without deflating the foam.
Step 5: Pour the freshly made Banana Cold Foam over your favorite iced coffee, cold brew, or hot latte. Garnish as desired with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a small banana slice. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious homemade Banana Cold Foam!
Notes
For the best results, ensure your heavy cream and milk are very cold before whipping. Ripe bananas (with brown spots) will yield the sweetest and most flavorful foam. Adjust the amount of sweetener to your personal preference.
