Ingredients
3 cups 100% Agave Tequila Blanco
1.5 cups Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
1 cup Cointreau or Orange Liqueur
3/4 cup Agave Nectar (adjust to taste)
1 cup Filtered Water (for dilution)
Lime wheels for garnish
Coarse sea salt for rimming
Instructions
Step 1: Squeeze approximately 15-20 fresh limes to get 1.5 cups of juice, ensuring no seeds or large pulp pieces remain.
Step 2: In a large pitcher (at least 60 oz capacity), combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar.
Step 3: Add the filtered water to the mixture and stir vigorously with a long spoon until the agave nectar is fully dissolved and integrated.
Step 4: Taste the mixture; if you prefer it sweeter, add more agave nectar one tablespoon at a time.
Step 5: Chill the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to ensure it is ice-cold.
Step 6: Prepare serving glasses by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping them into coarse sea salt.
Step 7: Fill the salted glasses with fresh ice and pour the batch margarita recipe directly from the pitcher, garnishing each with a lime wheel.
Notes
Always use fresh lime juice for the best results. The addition of water is crucial to mimic the dilution that occurs during shaking.
