1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water
Instructions
Step 1: In a large saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon until no lumps remain.
Step 2: Stir in the water and lemon juice until the mixture forms a smooth paste.
Step 3: Add the blackberries and lemon zest to the saucepan, tossing gently to coat the berries in the sugar mixture.
Step 4: Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently but carefully to keep some berries whole.
Step 5: Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes once the liquid has thickened and turned from cloudy to a glossy, translucent deep purple.
