Ingredients
8 cups (approx. 5 oz/140g) romaine lettuce, washed, dried, and torn into bite-sized pieces
6–8 oz (170-225g) plain or lightly salted kettle-cooked potato chips (approx. 60–80 large chips)
1/2 cup high-quality Caesar dressing (homemade or store-bought)
1/4 cup freshly shaved or grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Ensure romaine lettuce is thoroughly washed and spun dry. This is crucial for maintaining chip crispness in your Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower.
Step 2: Prepare your Parmesan cheese by shaving thin ribbons or grating it fresh.
Step 3: Place a small dollop of Caesar dressing on each of your four serving plates. This will help anchor the first chip for your Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower.
Step 4: Select a large, sturdy potato chip and place it on the dollop of dressing on a plate, forming the base of your Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower.
Step 5: Layer a small handful of torn romaine lettuce on top of the chip, pressing gently to compact.
Step 6: Lightly drizzle approximately 1-2 teaspoons of Caesar dressing over the lettuce layer.
Step 7: Sprinkle a small amount of Parmesan cheese over the dressed lettuce.
Step 8: Carefully place another potato chip (slightly smaller if possible) on top of the Parmesan layer. This is the next level of your Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower.
Step 9: Repeat the layering process: lettuce, dressing, Parmesan, then another chip. Continue building your Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower, gradually tapering the chip size as you go up, aiming for 3-5 layers per tower.
Step 10: For the final layer, crown your Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower with a single, attractive potato chip. Garnish with additional Parmesan shavings and a crack of fresh black pepper.
Step 11: Repeat the assembly process for the remaining three towers.
Step 12: Serve the Caesar Salad Potato Chip Tower immediately to enjoy optimal crispness.
Notes
For best results, use sturdy, kettle-cooked potato chips. Prepare all ingredients ahead of time and assemble the towers just before serving to prevent the chips from becoming soggy. You can pre-mix the romaine with a portion of the dressing if you prefer, but be mindful of immediate serving.
