Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 small onion, finely diced
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup dill pickles, finely diced
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
12 egg roll wrappers
1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onions together until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain all excess fat thoroughly.
Step 2: Stir in the salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes.
Step 3: Once cooled, fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced pickles until well combined.
Step 4: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond orientation. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the cheeseburger mixture in the center.
Step 5: Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the left and right corners. Roll tightly toward the remaining top corner.
Step 6: Brush the top corner with the beaten egg and press firmly to seal the roll.
Step 7: Heat 2 inches of oil in a heavy pot to 350°F. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
Step 8: Remove from oil and drain on a wire rack or paper towels before serving hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Ensure the beef filling is completely cooled before rolling to prevent the wrappers from getting soggy. You can also air fry these at 400°F for 8-10 minutes.
