Ingredients
1 package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
1 cup sliced pepperoni
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
Step 2: On a lightly floured surface, unroll the refrigerated pizza dough. Gently stretch or roll it into a rectangle, aiming for about 1/4 inch thickness.
Step 3: Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the dough into approximately 3-inch squares.
Step 4: Place a few slices of pepperoni and a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center of each dough square. If desired, add a small pinch of Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
Step 5: Carefully bring the corners of each dough square towards the center, completely enclosing the filling. Pinch the seams together firmly to seal the bomb. Ensure there are no gaps for the cheese to escape.
Step 6: Arrange the sealed pizza bombs seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
Step 7: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and garlic powder (if using). Brush this mixture lightly over the tops of each pizza bomb. This will help them turn golden and add a touch of garlic flavor.
Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is puffed up, golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 9: Remove the pizza bombs from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.
Step 10: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if using, for a fresh aroma and pop of color. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
For an extra cheesy kick, try adding a small cube of string cheese inside each bomb before sealing. Serve immediately for the best gooey cheese experience!
