Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approx 6–8 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions
Step 1: Pat the chicken breast completely dry with paper towels on all sides to ensure a proper sear.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, and paprika.
Step 3: Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast, pressing it into the meat.
Step 4: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Step 5: Place the chicken breast in the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes without moving them until a golden crust forms.
Step 6: Flip the chicken and add the butter and lemon juice to the pan. Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 5-8 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Step 7: Remove from the pan and let the chicken breast rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Always use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken breast reaches exactly 165 degrees without overcooking.
