Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup pecans, finely chopped
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 container (16 oz) whipped topping, divided
2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
3 cups cold whole milk
1/2 cup chocolate shavings (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, and chopped pecans. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack before adding the next layer of your chocolate delight recipe.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy. Fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping.
Step 4: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust, ensuring you reach all the corners of the dish.
Step 5: In another bowl, whisk together the two packages of instant chocolate pudding mix and the 3 cups of cold milk. Whisk for 2 minutes until the mixture begins to thicken.
Step 6: Carefully spread the pudding layer over the cream cheese layer. Let it sit for 5 minutes to firm up slightly.
Step 7: Spread the remaining whipped topping over the top of the pudding layer. Garnish with chocolate shavings or extra pecans if desired.
Step 8: Refrigerate the chocolate delight recipe for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before slicing and serving.
Notes
For the best results, ensure the crust is completely cold before adding the cream cheese layer to prevent melting. You can substitute walnuts for pecans if preferred.
