Ingredients
1 box blue velvet cake mix (plus required eggs, oil, and water)
2 cups vanilla buttercream frosting
Blue gel food coloring
16 mini chocolate chip cookies
16 edible candy eyes
1/2 cup chocolate chip cookie crumbles
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions and bake the blue velvet cake in a 9×13 inch pan.
Step 2: Allow the cake to cool completely before using a circular cutter or a glass to cut out rounds that fit your jars.
Step 3: Tint your vanilla buttercream with blue gel food coloring until you reach the desired ‘Monster Blue’ shade.
Step 4: Place one round of cake at the bottom of each glass jar to start your cookie monster cake jars.
Step 5: Pipe a layer of blue frosting over the cake and sprinkle with chocolate chip cookie crumbles.
Step 6: Repeat the layers of cake and frosting until the jar is filled to the top.
Step 7: Decorate the top with more blue frosting piped to look like fur, add two candy eyes, and stick a mini cookie into the frosting ‘mouth’.
Notes
Use a long spoon to enjoy all the layers at once!
