Ingredients
12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 pinch of salt
Instructions
Step 1: Rinse the cranberries and remove any damaged or soft berries.
Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and orange juice over medium-high heat.
Step 3: Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Step 4: Add the cranberries to the pot and return to a boil.
Step 5: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until most berries have popped.
Step 6: Remove from heat and stir in the orange zest and a pinch of salt.
Step 7: Allow the sauce to cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating; it will thicken as it cools.
