Ingredients
16 oz (2 blocks) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream (full-fat recommended)
1 1/2 cups dill pickles, finely chopped and well-drained
1/4 cup fresh dill, finely minced
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
Pinch of salt (optional, to taste)
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed or a sturdy whisk until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no lumps (about 1-2 minutes).
Step 2: Finely chop the dill pickles. Place the chopped pickles in a fine-mesh sieve and gently press out any excess liquid. Finely mince the fresh dill.
Step 3: Add the well-drained chopped dill pickles, minced fresh dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to the cream cheese mixture.
Step 4: Gently fold all the ingredients together using a spatula until they are just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 5: Taste the Dill Pickle Dip and adjust seasonings as needed. If your pickles are not very salty, you may wish to add a small pinch of salt.
Step 6: Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and deepen. For best results, chill for 2-4 hours.
Step 7: Before serving, give the Dill Pickle Dip a quick stir. Garnish with a fresh sprig of dill or a few extra small pickle pieces if desired. Serve cold with your favorite dippers.
Notes
For the best flavor and texture, use full-fat cream cheese and sour cream, and be sure to drain your chopped pickles thoroughly to prevent a watery dip. This dip tastes even better the next day!
