Ingredients
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
1/3 cup neutral oil (avocado or light olive oil)
1/4 cup water (adjust for consistency)
2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce of choice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Combine the nutritional yeast, neutral oil, and soy sauce in a medium mixing bowl or blender.
Step 2: Add the maple syrup, sriracha, minced garlic, and ground ginger to the mixture.
Step 3: Whisk vigorously or blend on high speed until the dragon sauce recipe ingredients are completely emulsified and smooth.
Step 4: Slowly add the water, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to whisk until you reach your desired pouring consistency.
Step 5: Taste the dragon sauce recipe and adjust the heat (more sriracha) or sweetness (more maple syrup) as needed.
Step 6: Transfer the sauce to a glass jar and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors develop before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Shake or whisk well before each use as separation is natural.
