Ingredients
1 package (16.5 oz) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for rolling)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups assorted fresh fruit (blueberries, sliced strawberries, kiwi, grapes, mandarin oranges)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: On a floured surface, roll out the sugar cookie dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Step 3: Cut the dough into oval ‘egg’ shapes using a cookie cutter or a paper template and a knife.
Step 4: Place the dough shapes on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are just lightly golden.
Step 5: Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
Step 6: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
Step 7: Spread the frosting onto the cooled cookies and decorate with fresh fruit in colorful patterns.
Notes
Ensure the fruit is patted completely dry to prevent the frosting from getting soggy.
