Ingredients
14 oz frozen udon noodles (2 packs)
1/2 lb thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
1/2 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 stalks green onions, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp neutral oil
Optional: Shichimi togarashi for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the frozen udon noodles for 1-2 minutes until just loosened. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, and brown sugar to create the sauce for the easy beef udon recipe.
Step 3: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the yellow onions and sauté for 3 minutes until translucent.
Step 4: Add the beef slices and cook until browned, about 2 minutes.
Step 5: Pour in the sauce and add the cooked udon noodles. Toss well for 1-2 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.
Step 6: Garnish with green onions and serve your easy beef udon recipe immediately.
Notes
Using frozen udon is key for the best texture. If you use dry udon, cook according to package directions before stir-frying.
