Ingredients
1 cup honey (clover or wildflower)
2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Step 1: Pour the honey into a small saucepan and add the crushed red pepper flakes.
Step 2: Heat the honey over medium-low heat until tiny bubbles begin to form around the edges (do not let it reach a rolling boil).
Step 3: Remove the pan from the heat and let the honey sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the chili flakes to infuse their heat.
Step 4: Stir in the apple cider vinegar and a pinch of sea salt.
Step 5: If you prefer a smooth sauce, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a glass jar; otherwise, leave the flakes in for extra heat.
Step 6: Let the easy hot honey sauce recipe cool completely before sealing the jar and storing it at room temperature.
Notes
If the honey crystallizes over time, simply place the jar in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes to liquify it again.
