Ingredients
12 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
6 cups cubed sourdough bread
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp onion powder
Instructions
Step 1: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: Spread the cubed sourdough bread evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Step 3: Sprinkle the cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage and shredded cheddar cheese over the bread cubes.
Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, dry mustard, and onion powder until well combined.
Step 5: Pour the egg mixture slowly over the bread and meat, ensuring all bread cubes are moistened.
Step 6: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
Step 7: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
