Ingredients
2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur (such as Kahlúa)
1 oz Freshly brewed espresso (cooled slightly)
1/4 oz Simple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
3 Coffee beans (for garnish)
Ice cubes
Instructions
Step 1: Chill your martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5-10 minutes prior to making the drink.
Step 2: Brew a fresh shot of espresso and let it sit for 2 minutes to take the edge off the heat.
Step 3: Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, and optional simple syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with plenty of ice.
Step 4: Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. This is the key to getting the signature foam in this espresso martini recipe.
Step 5: Double strain the cocktail into your chilled glass to ensure a smooth, ice-chip-free texture.
Step 6: Garnish with three coffee beans placed carefully on top of the foam.
Notes
Always use fresh espresso rather than instant for the best foam. Ensure you shake hard!
