Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 lemon, juiced
Instructions
Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and prepare a large bowl with ice water.
Step 2: Blanch the green beans in the boiling water for 3-5 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
Step 3: Immediately transfer the beans to the ice water bath for 2 minutes, then drain and pat dry thoroughly.
Step 4: In a large skillet over medium heat, toast the slivered almonds until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
Step 5: In the same skillet, melt the butter and olive oil. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 6: Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic butter for 2-3 minutes.
Step 7: Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Top with the toasted almonds and serve immediately.
