Ingredients
1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails on or off (approx. 21–25 count)
1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated preferred)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil or avocado oil, for frying
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the shrimp by thawing completely if frozen. Pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture is crucial for crispiness.
Step 2: In a shallow bowl, combine the gluten-free flour blend, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Step 3: Working in batches, dredge each dry shrimp in the flour mixture, making sure it’s fully coated. Gently shake off any excess flour. Place the coated shrimp on a clean plate.
Step 4: Heat the olive oil or avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Step 5: Carefully add the coated shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to cook in two or three batches to maintain consistent heat and achieve maximum crispiness.
Step 6: Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn golden brown and are cooked through. They should be opaque with a beautiful crispy crust.
Step 7: Transfer the cooked shrimp to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Step 8: Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, if desired, and serve immediately with lemon wedges. Enjoy your amazing gluten free shrimp recipes easy crispy!
Notes
For best results, ensure your shrimp are thoroughly dried before coating. This is the secret to maximum crispiness! If you don’t have a gluten-free all-purpose blend, a mix of rice flour and cornstarch can also work for the coating.
