Ingredients
1 lb (500g) potato gnocchi
2 cups marinara sauce
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3: Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet and add the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Step 4: Add the uncooked gnocchi to the sauce and toss gently to coat every piece evenly.
Step 5: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out in an even layer.
Step 6: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the gnocchi and tomato bake.
Step 7: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese is golden brown and melted.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes of cooking. Use high-quality marinara for the best flavor.
