Ingredients
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional, for brightness)
Fresh parsley or sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels and season them with salt and black pepper.
Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer (work in batches if needed) and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet, letting it melt. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Step 4: Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar (if using). Whisk until the sauce is smooth and begins to bubble gently.
Step 5: Return the seared chicken bites to the skillet. Toss gently to coat all the chicken in the honey butter sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and clings to the chicken.
Step 6: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly dredge the chicken pieces in a tablespoon of cornstarch before searing. Ensure your skillet is hot enough for a good sear but not so hot that the butter and honey burn when added later.
