Ingredients
12 large jalapeño peppers
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
12 slices thin-cut bacon, halved
Optional: Fresh chives for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack.
Step 2: Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove all seeds and membranes to manage the heat level in these jalapeno recipes.
Step 3: In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until smooth.
Step 4: Fill each jalapeño half with approximately 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture.
Step 5: Wrap each filled pepper with a half-slice of bacon, ensuring the ends are tucked underneath to prevent unraveling during the baking of your jalapeno recipes.
Step 6: Place the poppers on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the peppers are tender.
Step 7: Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving to let the cheese set.
Notes
Always wear gloves when handling peppers for jalapeno recipes to avoid skin irritation.
