Ingredients
4 cod fillets (approx. 6 oz each)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
Step 2: Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels to ensure they bake properly and don’t steam. Place them in the prepared baking dish.
Step 3: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, and paprika.
Step 4: Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper, then pour the butter mixture evenly over the fish.
Step 5: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Step 6: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra lemon slices before serving immediately.
Notes
Always use fresh lemon for the best flavor results. If cod is unavailable, halibut or haddock are excellent substitutes.
