Classic Fresh Margarita

A bright, balanced, and incredibly refreshing margarita recipe made with fresh lime juice, premium tequila, and a hint of orange liqueur.

Ingredients

2 oz Blanco Tequila (100% Blue Agave)
1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
0.75 oz Cointreau or high-quality Triple Sec
0.25 oz Agave nectar (optional, for sweetness)
Coarse sea salt for the rim
Ice cubes
Lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass and dip it into coarse sea salt to coat the outer edge.
Step 2: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes until it is about two-thirds full.
Step 3: Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar (if using) into the shaker.
Step 4: Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold.
Step 5: Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
Step 6: Garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately.

Notes

Always use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. For a lower calorie version, omit the agave nectar.
