Ingredients
2 oz (60ml) Blanco Tequila
1 oz (30ml) Freshly squeezed lime juice
0.75 oz (22ml) Agave nectar or Cointreau
Coarse salt, for rim (optional)
Lime wheel or wedge, for garnish
Ice
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Glass. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your chosen glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt, rotating to get an even coating. Set aside.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients. In a cocktail shaker, combine Blanco tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, and agave nectar or Cointreau.
Step 3: Add Ice and Shake. Fill the cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with fresh ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
Step 4: Strain and Serve. Fill your prepared, salted glass with fresh ice. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the glass.
Step 5: Garnish and Enjoy. Garnish your margarita with a fresh lime wheel or wedge.
Notes
For a frozen margarita, blend all ingredients (except salt and garnish) with 1 cup of ice until smooth. Adjust sweetness to taste. For batching, pre-mix tequila, lime, and sweetener in a glass jar (without ice), and store in the fridge. Shake individual servings with ice just before serving.
