The Ultimate Energizing Iced Matcha Latte

Discover how to make the perfect creamy, smooth, and energizing iced matcha latte at home with this easy-to-follow recipe. Say goodbye to bitter matcha and hello to your new favorite vibrant green brew!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale

12 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder
23 oz hot water (approx. 175°F / 80°C)
12 tsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)
810 oz cold milk of choice (oat milk recommended)
Ice cubes

Instructions

Step 1: Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl using a fine-mesh sieve to prevent clumps.
Step 2: Heat water to approximately 175°F (80°C) and pour it over the sifted matcha powder in the bowl.
Step 3: Using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small milk frother, vigorously whisk the matcha in a ‘W’ or ‘M’ motion until it is smooth, frothy, and a vibrant green concentrate forms (about 15-30 seconds).
Step 4: Add maple syrup or honey to the matcha concentrate and stir until fully dissolved.
Step 5: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
Step 6: Pour 8-10 ounces of your chosen cold milk over the ice.
Step 7: Gently pour the whisked matcha concentrate over the milk. Stir with a spoon or straw to combine before serving.

Notes

For best results, use ceremonial grade matcha powder. Adjust sweetness to your personal preference. A bamboo whisk (chasen) helps achieve the smoothest, frothiest matcha concentrate.
