Matcha Recipes - A frothy green matcha latte in a ceramic mug on a wooden table.

Classic Ceremonial Matcha Latte

A smooth, creamy, and antioxidant-rich green tea latte made with high-quality ceremonial grade matcha and frothy oat milk.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 tsp Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder
2 oz Hot Water (175°F / 80°C)
8 oz Oat Milk (or milk of choice)
1 tsp Maple Syrup or Honey (optional)
A pinch of Cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Sift the matcha powder through a fine-mesh strainer into a small bowl to remove any lumps.
Step 2: Add the hot (not boiling) water to the bowl with the sifted matcha.
Step 3: Use a bamboo whisk or a handheld frother to whisk the matcha and water in a vigorous ‘W’ motion until a thick froth with tiny bubbles forms on the surface.
Step 4: In a separate glass or milk frother, heat and froth your oat milk until it reaches your desired level of creaminess.
Step 5: If using a sweetener, stir it into the frothed milk or directly into the matcha base.
Step 6: Pour the frothed milk over the whisked matcha and garnish with a light sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately.

Notes

Always ensure your water is not boiling to prevent bitterness. Sifting the powder is essential for a smooth texture.
