Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp milk or cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup M&M candies (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
Step 1: Heat-treat the flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking at 350°F for 5 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F. Let it cool completely.
Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Stir in the salt, vanilla extract, and sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
Step 4: Gradually add the cooled, heat-treated flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until a thick dough forms.
Step 5: Fold in the M&M candies gently with a spatula.
Step 6: Line an 8×8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper. Press the fudge mixture firmly and evenly into the pan.
Step 7: Press a few extra M&M candies into the top for decoration.
Step 8: Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or until firm before slicing into 1-inch squares.
