Ingredients
1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
2 sprigs fresh rosemary (plus extra for garnish)
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup agave nectar or sugar
1 cup sparkling water or club soda
Ice cubes
Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the rosemary syrup by combining water, agave nectar, and 2 rosemary sprigs in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring until the sweetener is dissolved, then remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
Step 3: Strain the syrup into a glass jar and discard the used rosemary sprigs; let it cool completely.
Step 4: In a pitcher or shaker, combine the fresh orange juice and 2-3 tablespoons of the cooled rosemary syrup.
Step 5: Fill two glasses with ice and pour the orange mixture over the ice until the glasses are two-thirds full.
Step 6: Top each glass with sparkling water and stir gently to combine without losing the carbonation.
Step 7: Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and an orange slice before serving your orange rosemary drink recipe.
Notes
For a more intense rosemary flavor, let the syrup steep for up to 30 minutes. You can also char the rosemary sprig garnish with a torch for a smoky aroma.
