Pringles Chocolate Block

A surprisingly addictive and incredibly easy-to-make sweet and salty treat, combining the crispiness of Pringles potato crisps with rich, melted chocolate. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or a unique snack.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: 1 block (approx. 12-16 servings) 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 (5.2 oz / 149g) can Pringles Original Potato Crisps
12 oz (340g) good quality chocolate (milk, dark, or semi-sweet), chopped or in chip form
1–2 tsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
Flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare your workstation. Line a baking sheet or a 9×5 inch loaf pan (for a thicker block) with parchment paper, ensuring some overhang on the sides to easily lift out the finished Pringles Chocolate Block later. This step is crucial for non-stick removal.
Step 2: Melt the chocolate. Place the chopped chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, use a double boiler over simmering water, stirring until melted. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate, as it can seize.
Step 3: Create the first layer. Spread a thin, even layer of melted chocolate at the bottom of your prepared pan. This will be the base of your Pringles Chocolate Block.
Step 4: Arrange Pringles. Carefully place a single layer of Pringles crisps over the melted chocolate, slightly overlapping them if necessary to cover the surface. Try to keep them as flat as possible to ensure a cohesive Pringles Chocolate Block.
Step 5: Add more chocolate. Gently pour about one-third of the remaining melted chocolate over the Pringle layer, ensuring each crisp is covered. Use an offset spatula or the back of a spoon to spread the chocolate evenly to the edges.
Step 6: Repeat layers. Continue layering Pringles and chocolate until you run out of crisps or reach your desired thickness. The goal is to build up a substantial Pringles Chocolate Block. Finish with a final layer of melted chocolate on top, making it as smooth as possible.
Step 7: Add toppings (optional). If desired, sprinkle flaky sea salt or other toppings over the wet chocolate immediately after the final layer. This will ensure they adhere properly to your Pringles Chocolate Block.
Step 8: Chill to set. Transfer the baking sheet or pan to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1-2 hours, or until the Pringles Chocolate Block is completely firm. For best results, use glass food storage containers to keep it airtight while chilling. You can find excellent Basics Glass Food Storage options online.
Step 9: Break and serve. Once firm, lift the Pringles Chocolate Block out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Place it on a cutting board and use a large, sharp knife to carefully cut or break it into irregular shards or squares. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Pringles Chocolate Block!

Notes

For the best results, use good quality chocolate that melts smoothly. If your chocolate is too thick, add an additional half-teaspoon of coconut oil. Experiment with different Pringle flavors and chocolate types to find your perfect combination!
