Ingredients
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed but cold
1/2 cup thick marinara sauce
1.5 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto the parchment paper. If needed, lightly roll it with a rolling pin to even out any creases.
Step 3: Using a sharp knife, lightly score a 1/2-inch border around the edge of the pastry. Do not cut all the way through. Prick the inside of the border several times with a fork.
Step 4: Spread the marinara sauce evenly within the scored border. Sprinkle with garlic powder and dried oregano.
Step 5: Top with the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are puffed and golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Step 7: Remove from the oven, let cool for 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil and slice into rectangles.
Notes
Ensure the puff pastry remains cold until the moment it enters the oven for the best rise.
