Ingredients
2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 pound cooked corned beef, finely chopped or shredded
1 (14 ounce) can sauerkraut, well-drained and squeezed dry
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese, divided
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon caraway seeds (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and arrange it in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing seams together to form a solid crust.
Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the chopped corned beef, well-drained sauerkraut, 1 cup of shredded Swiss cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
Step 4: Spread the corned beef mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough in the baking dish.
Step 5: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully place it over the corned beef mixture, pressing seams together to form a top crust.
Step 6: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded Swiss cheese and the optional caraway seeds over the top crust.
Step 7: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the filling is heated through and bubbly.
Step 8: Remove from oven and let stand for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure sauerkraut is very well-drained and squeezed dry to prevent a watery bake. You can also press out excess moisture from the chopped corned beef if using deli-sliced for an even better texture and flavor concentration. Serve hot for the ultimate comforting experience. This Reuben Crescent Bake can be made ahead and reheated.
