Ingredients
1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
1/2 cup Onion, finely diced
1/2 cup Green Bell Pepper, finely diced
2 cloves Garlic, minced
3/4 cup Ketchup
1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
6 Hamburger Buns, toasted
Instructions
Step 1: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no pink remains, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks.
Step 2: Drain any excess grease from the skillet, then add the diced onion and green bell pepper.
Step 3: Sauté the vegetables with the beef for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and the peppers have softened.
Step 4: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 5: Add the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the skillet.
Step 6: Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors are well combined.
Step 7: Serve the hot sloppy joe mixture on toasted buns and enjoy immediately.
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, toast your buns with a little garlic butter before serving.
