Ingredients
200 g (7 oz) smoked salmon, thinly sliced
200 g (7 oz) cooked prawns, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon capers (rinsed and drained)
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Zest of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons crème fraîche (or sour cream)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Lemon wedges, for garnish
Fresh dill sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked prawns, capers, chopped dill, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Gently toss until the prawns are well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2: On a serving platter, arrange the slices of smoked salmon in a decorative pattern, overlapping slightly.
Step 3: Spoon the prawn mixture evenly over the smoked salmon, ensuring an even distribution.
Step 4: Dot the crème fraîche (or sour cream) over the top of the prawns, or serve it on the side in a small bowl for dipping.
Step 5: Garnish the dish with lemon wedges and fresh dill sprigs. Serve immediately as an elegant appetizer.
Notes
This dish is best served fresh. For a richer flavor, add a touch more crème fraîche. Consider serving with crusty bread or crackers for a more substantial appetizer. Use high-quality smoked salmon for the best results.
