Ingredients
2 oz cubed sharp cheddar cheese
2 oz sliced salami or turkey breast
1/2 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries)
1/4 cup grapes
1/2 small cucumber, sliced
1/4 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
1/4 cup whole-wheat crackers
1/4 cup pretzels or nuts (almonds, cashews)
2 tbsp hummus (in a small, sealed container)
1 hard-boiled egg, peeled and halved
Optional: small piece of dark chocolate or a few olives
Instructions
Step 1: Select a multi-compartment, leak-proof food container for your Snackle Box. Ensure all compartments are clean and dry.
Step 2: Prepare all your ingredients. Wash and dry berries, grapes, cucumber, and bell pepper. Slice the cucumber and bell pepper into snackable pieces. If using, peel and halve the hard-boiled egg.
Step 3: Begin by placing your protein components. Add the cubed cheddar cheese and folded slices of salami or turkey breast into separate compartments.
Step 4: Next, add your fresh produce. Arrange the mixed berries and grapes into their own sections. Place the cucumber slices and bell pepper strips into designated spots.
Step 5: Integrate your crunchy elements. Add the whole-wheat crackers and pretzels or nuts into their respective compartments, ensuring they don’t get crushed by other items.
Step 6: Spoon the hummus into a small, sealable container and place it within one of the larger compartments of your Snackle Box.
Step 7: Add the hard-boiled egg halves to a free compartment. If desired, include optional items like dark chocolate or olives in any remaining small spaces.
Step 8: Securely close your Snackle Box. If consuming later or on the go, place it in an insulated bag with an ice pack to keep perishable items fresh and cool until ready to enjoy.
Notes
Feel free to customize your Snackle Box with your favorite ingredients! Experiment with different cheeses, meats, fruits, veggies, and dips. For best results and food safety, always keep perishable items chilled with an ice pack if you won’t be consuming them immediately.
