Ingredients
36 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cold milk
12 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), divided
2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
3 cups cold whole milk
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1 cup pecans, chopped and toasted
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chocolate cookies and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Step 2: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in 1.5 cups of the whipped topping.
Step 3: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled cookie crust.
Step 4: In another bowl, whisk together the two packages of chocolate pudding mix and 3 cups of cold milk for 2 minutes until it starts to thicken. Pour the pudding over the cream cheese layer.
Step 5: Let the pudding set for about 5 minutes, then spread the remaining whipped topping over the top of the pudding layer.
Step 6: Drizzle the caramel sauce and chocolate syrup over the top. Sprinkle with the toasted chopped pecans.
Step 7: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) before slicing and serving to allow the layers to set properly.
Notes
Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Toasting the pecans is optional but highly recommended for depth of flavor.
