Whipped Cream Cheese Crostini with Honey

An elegant and easy appetizer featuring crisp baguette slices topped with light, fluffy whipped cream cheese and a sweet drizzle of honey, perfect for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 fresh baguette, about 12–15 inches long
2 tbsp olive oil
8 oz (226g) block cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1–2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional, for sweeter cream cheese)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
1/4 cup honey, plus more for drizzling
Optional garnishes: fresh berries, chopped nuts (pistachios, walnuts), flaky sea salt

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Step 2: Lightly brush each baguette slice with olive oil. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Let them cool slightly on the baking sheet.
Step 3: While the crostini are baking, prepare the whipped cream cheese. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar (if using), and vanilla extract (if using).
Step 4: Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until light, fluffy, and smooth, about 2-3 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Step 5: Once the crostini are cool enough to handle, generously spread a dollop of the whipped cream cheese onto each toasted baguette slice.
Step 6: Drizzle a spoonful of honey over the cream cheese on each crostini. For easier drizzling, you can warm the honey slightly.
Step 7: Garnish with optional toppings like fresh berries, chopped nuts, or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for the best whipped texture. For a slight variation, you can infuse your honey with a vanilla bean or a sprig of fresh rosemary overnight.
