Ingredients
1 (750ml) bottle dry white wine, chilled (Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or dry Riesling)
1/4 cup brandy or orange liqueur (Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or peach schnapps)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries)
1/2 cup peaches or nectarines, pitted and sliced (optional)
1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled
Fresh mint for garnish (optional)
Ice
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your fruit. Wash all fruits thoroughly. Slice the oranges, lemons, and limes into thin rounds or wedges. Hull and slice strawberries, and cube any larger fruits like peaches or apples. Place all the prepared fruit into a large pitcher or punch bowl.
Step 2: Add the sweetener and liqueur. Pour the granulated sugar over the fruit in the pitcher. If using, add the brandy or orange liqueur at this stage. Stir gently to coat the fruit and help the sugar begin to dissolve.
Step 3: Pour in the wine. Carefully pour the entire bottle of chilled white wine over the fruit and liqueur mixture. Stir again gently to combine everything.
Step 4: Chill and infuse. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably 4-6 hours. This chilling time is crucial for the flavors to meld and deepen. You can even prepare this white sangria recipe the night before.
Step 5: Just before serving. Once ready to serve, remove the pitcher from the refrigerator. Add the chilled sparkling water or club soda. Stir one final time.
Step 6: Serve and enjoy! Fill individual glasses with ice. Ladle the white sangria into each glass, ensuring each serving gets a generous amount of fruit. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig if desired. Enjoy your refreshing white sangria recipe!
Notes
For the best flavor, allow the white sangria to chill for at least 2-4 hours, or even overnight, so the fruit can fully infuse the wine. You can customize the fruit to your liking; grapes, kiwi, or melon balls are also delicious additions. For extra chill without dilution, freeze some of the fruit beforehand and use it instead of ice cubes. This white sangria recipe is best enjoyed fresh.
